Graduation Guest Outfits

Hello Style Minds!

So last weekend was a CRAZYYY weekend. As most of you know last weekend was grad week for me (as in attending), I had left my house Thursday afternoon and did not come home till Monday morning (only to go out later that day for a grad party). I had attended three different graduations, one on Thursday, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday. I also didn’t want to pack too many things while staying over at my friends’ houses, mainly shoes. I'm sorry that this post is so late, it would have been up on Tuesday, but unfortunately with all the craziness going on I didn’t really have a chance to take pictures of myself wearing the outfits those days. So I had to wait until I had a chance to re-wear and take pictures of these outfits for this post. Each outfit has its own different vibe and style to it.

Black Chic

Hat: H&M

Necklace: Forever 21
Top: H&M
Blazer: From Mom
Shorts: Papaya
Shoes: From Mom
The graduation I attended for this day was actually held at night which was perfect for this outfit. Having a nearly all black outfit isn’t usually ideal for the daytime (though it can work out in most cases). The top and the shorts have a casual and comfortable feel to it. By adding the blazer and a pair of heels, the outfit instantly portrays a more semi-sophisticated feel.

Simplistic Girly Girl

Demi Shirt: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Top: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: From Mom
This graduation was held during the late afternoon. For this outfit I wanted to give off a more girlish vibe. Each piece of this outfit are staple pieces in my closet, and once put together it makes a perfect outfit. Each piece has a simple little detail whether it be the color or the material, to make each stand out. Again pairing heels with an outfit can instantly make an outfit look dressier.

Urban Boho

Kimono: Ross
Romper: Ross
Belt: From Dad
Shoes: From Mom
This graduation was held during mid-afternoon.  Now this outfit is SUPER easy to put together, as it only contains four pieces to it. Rompers are a great thing to have in your closet. They’re easy to put on and they come it different cuts, colors, and prints! Tribal print rompers are one of my favorites because you don’t need to play it up as much. I didn’t want to show too much skin, so I added my lace kimono which matched the lace detail of my romper and the fringe adds amazing movement. If you don’t already know what I’ll say about heels, then you’ll need to reread the other two outfits again.

Usually for graduations people want to dress up nicely. Though having to sit there for who knows how long, waiting for the person you’re there to get called, and for the very end of the graduation ceremony. you want to also make sure you’re comfortable. Graduations are such an amazing celebrations for those you really care about. In the end it doesn’t really matter what you’re wearing, but why you’re there. I loved being able to see my three closest friends achieve this milestone in their lives. Did any of you have/are going to have graduations to go to? What did you wear? Or maybe you’re the one graduating, if so congrats to you 2015 grad!

Black On Black

Hello Style Minds!

This was such a hectic week for me! I basically spent my entire week in creative mode (and gaming mode). From designing and creating t-shirts to prepping gifts for graduations. As I said in the last post, this upcoming week I have three graduations that I’ll possibly be attending. Three whole different outfits that I must come up with, talk about pressure. That will be an intense post to cover.

Now this post is actually inspired from a post from my good friend, Jia, who also runs a fashion blog. She has made numerous posts of all black outfits. I thought, why not share how I put my own spin on one of my favorite trends. If you’d like to see how she styles an all-black outfit, check out her post here.

Sunglasses: Grad Gift
Denim Jacket: Hand-me-down
Top: H&M
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Converse Store
Watch: Kenneth Cole
Purse: Ross
Necklace: Forever 21
Rings: Charlotte Russe

Now all black outfits are chic in general, but it’s the pieces you choose and how you style it all that creates another look and feel to it. The version I’m sporting here is a more cutesy and fun way. Chic yet still casual. With the hot weather fast approaching (or in some cases, is already present) it can be difficult sporting an all-black outfit. For bottoms try going for either a black skirt or even black shorts or where a shorter sleeve top. My outfit felt like it just needed something else so I threw on my denim jacket.

It is so easy to play up all-black outfits if you don’t like the whole black look, trying wearing a bright color shoe, wearing a nice statement piece necklace, or even having a good statement handbag. It’s one of the easiest looks to put together.

Soft Blues

Hello Style Minds!

I know many of you are finishing up your school year, I’ve finally finished my first year of Uni about 2 weeks ago. I have never felt more relief. I have a whole range of friends graduating this month, whether it be college or high school. I have about three graduations I’ll be attending in the same week, so an outfit post will be coming from that pretty soon. Now that I’m on summer vacation, I have a couple things that I’m planning and sorting out. Hope everyone had a fantastic Mother’s Day weekend. I had given my mom some flowers and a card and we also went out for lunch. Here I am to share my outfit from this past weekend.

Now if you may or may not know, I’m someone who doesn’t wear bright colors or colors in generally that often. But with this Spring weather, what better than to bring out a soft pastel shade of color mix with some white. Chiffon dresses are also awesome to wear during the Spring time. It’s a light and comfortable feeling material. I could twirl nonstop while wearing chiffon.

Hat: Goodwill
Dress: Ross
Belt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: Forever 21
Earrings: Small Boutique
Watch: Atlanta Apparel Mart
Bracelets: Forever 21 & Atlanta Apparel Mart (Cross)
Clutch: Icing

Blue is one of my favorite colors and I absolutely adore this mint blue color. It just gives off such a light and soft feeling. You can probably tell I went crazy accessorizing with this outfit, but with a simple looking dress it’s one of the best ways to play it up. Whenever I wear my sunhat, I always have that 1940s/Southern Belle sort of feel. This outfit is a great look for outdoor events.

Quite a few of my outfits tend to fluctuate in style, but that’s what I love to do. I loving going from a sweet cute vibe to a hard rocker the next. Once of the best things about fashion is just experimenting to see what fits you. It’s taken me a bit to actually figure out what is my style. While I’m usually going for a more urban look, I can’t help but love straying from it now and again. Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone now and again, you never know.

Until the next chapter!
