Showing Your Fangirl Side

Hello Style Minds!

So I have been an avid fan of K-pop (or Hallyu) for a good six years now.  So yes, I can be classified as one of those crazy fangirls. I’ve been able to find good music and meet amazing people through different fandoms. Now like some fans, I don’t really have a solid source of money and fan products can be a bit pricey. With Kpop clothing, I never want to be too obvious of showing my fangirl side as most merchandise does. So all these fan shirts I actually DESIGNED and HAND-MADE MYSELF. (minus the actual band logos of course
)

Band: EXO
Cardigan: Old Navy
Skirt: Marshall’s
Tights: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Hat: Walmart

Band: Madtown
Shorts: Charlotte Russe
Tights: Walmart
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Beanie: H&M

Band: GOT7
Jeans: Urban Behavior
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Two of these designs I made for my friends the other was made for a cousin of mine.
Band: B.A.P for my friend Dee
Band: EXO for my cousin Joy
Band: B2ST for my friend Jia

And here’s a little extra design.

Leggings: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Marshall’s

Showing your fangirl side can be done in a stylish and chic way.

Lazy, Simple, Easy.

Hello Style Minds!

Yes I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Lately I’ve been feeling a bit sluggish and my outfits haven’t been up to par. But what better post to make than to share what I wear on my laziest of days.  Whenever we feel slothful we always just want to throw some random t-shirt and jeans on. I think the best way to handle a lazy day is to grab a few basic pieces.

Top: H&M
Shorts: DIY
Cardigan: Forever 21 (Guy's section)
Tights: Walmart
Shoes: Ross
Necklace: Forever 21
Rings: Claire’s

Now this whole outfit is just based on my go-to pieces. An oversized cardigan is one of my absolute favorite things! It’s comfortable, yet still makes that little touch to an outfit. Now I myself actually hate wearing jeans when I’m feeling lazy or lethargic, I always like to opt for either leggings or shorts because they are easy to slide into and move around in. Now with the colder weather I love wearing a pair of opaque or sheer pair of tights underneath because it just feels like another layer of skin. And what more comfortable shoes than combat boots? Out of any kind of shoe, combat boots are literally my best friend. I will opt for them over anything else. Now as for a top, I love wearing crop tops. They’re more light feeling and flowing than an average t-shirt and as someone who as an extremely short torso, I’m able to wear them like a regular shirt.

I hope this gives everyone a little guidance whenever you don’t want to put so much into your look but still look presentable.

Layers and Layers

Hello Style Minds!

I hope you’re having a fantastic week. Now for most of us, we currently have to deal with extremely cold weather. For myself I always have to think about being outside walking around campus to get to class. Having to dress for cold weather and still look presentable can be quite a hassle. The best way is to layer some of your favorite go-to winter pieces!

Beanie: Forever 21
Scarf: Urban Outfitters
Jacket: Forever 21
Denim Shirt: Forever 21
Top: Charlotte Russe
Jeans: Forever 21
Leg Warmers: Payless
Boots: Belk

One of the key things to layering is not layering pieces that are too thick or bulky. You don’t want your body to look bigger than it actually is as well as you don’t want to have your movement restricted. If you want to wear a sweater, layer a thermal underneath and wear a high collar jacket. The thinner your pieces the more you can play around with layer. I also love wearing leg warmers under long boots. The little peak of it just adds a cute aspect to any outfit (as well as keeping your calves warm).  My hooded leather jacket is also one of my favorite pieces. I literally wear it almost everyday during the Fall and Winter. It’s a piece that can toughen up and make an outfit look more chic. Another aspect that I love about it is that it’s a bit cropped so it can show off my layering more.
Look around your closet, play around and see what you can layer on!

For everyone who is experiencing the same kind (or worse) of Winter I am, remember the key thing is to STAY WARM. Wear the jacket, wear the gloves, wear the scarf.

Comfort Over Style? Worry Not!

Hello Style Minds!

I hope you all had a fabulous week. Unfortunately I spent most of my weekend with a sickness and slept most of the time. Thankfully I was able to get better by Sunday.
One of the many things that people struggle with when choosing an outfit is wanting to be stylish but having to sacrifice being comfortable or vice versa. But do not fret! There is a way to achieve both.

Top: Plato’s Closet
Joggers: Ross
Wedges: Charlotte Russe
Watch: Gift
Necklace: Charlotte Russe

Now I’m someone who absolutely cannot wear sweatpants out in the public eye under any circumstance. When I first saw joggers I just thought of them as another pair of sweatpants, when in fact you can turn them into a happy medium of comfort and style. You can dress them up for a clean and chic look as I did with a nice button-up shirt and a pair of heels or wedges. You could tone it down for a more casual look by wearing a pair of converse (or any type of sneakers) and a nice tee. Now I've seen most joggers that look exactly like mine that run about $15 or so, but I was able to buy mine for only $9!! It’s all about where you look and shop.

Like many others, my Spring semester of college is beginning. I hope your first week back runs smoothly. I know “dressing up” for classes can be a hassle, but remember a simple tuck or accessory can really turn up your outfit in the end. All you have to do is try!

Ringing In The New Year

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. This is my very first post on this blog as well as this year of 2015! I hope you all had a wonderful New Years whether it was spent partying 2014, out or just a relaxing evening at home. I myself had attended a New Years Eve party and our theme was “something sparkling”.

Dress: Forever 21
Shoes: Hand-Me-Down
Tights: H&M
Watch: Kenneth Cole
Rings: Charlotte Russe
Bracelets: Forever 21

Now as someone who is not a big fan of sparkles and glitter, having the sequences only on the front side of the bodice was the perfect amount for me. With the simple flowy skirt, this dress allowed me to play it up a little more with minimal accessories. And even though it’s a bit chilly this time of year, a good pair of sheer tights underneath is a great way to still show off your legs. For long nights out, try to wear more sturdy and comfortable heels and these booties are definitely my best friend. They give me the height I need, and I can walk and stand in them for hours.

I hope that your New Years Eve was filled with fun and happy memories. May you all have an amazing start of the New Year.

p.s. Sorry for the bad quality of photos. Bad lightening and not being able to find your more decent camera can do that.

Until the next chapter!
