Dark Summer

Hello Style Minds!! I know, I didn’t keep my promise AT ALL about posting every Monday/Tuesday. Running a blog is a little harder than I thought, BUT, I am not giving up just yet. I don’t want to think about this blog as a chore, I want to be able to enjoy sharing outfits and any other ideas. So I don’t promise posting very often, but I promise not to fall of the face of the Earth. Another reason that I didn’t post often is because I actually did go out this much during this summer, and most of my outfits were pretty basic (Maybe I’ll make a post on that? I don’t know).
Here is an outfit I through together this past weekend, and it was definitely one of my favorites to have put together.

Hat: From my Cousin (Urban Outfiters)
Top: From my Cousin (Rue 21)
Shorts: Charlotte Russe
Knee Socks: Walmart
Shoes: Old Navy
Watch: From my Mom

So as I’ve said time and time again, I’m not a fan of bright colors and I don’t plan on conforming anytime soon. Plus, dark colors just seem to suit me better. I know with the hot weather dark colors isn’t the most ideal thing, but the way I compensate is just the type of pieces I wear.
I am totally in love with this crop top my cousin gave me. The print fits the summer theme but it has the color choice that I love. I’m pretty weary about my midrifft, so pairing high-wasited shorts is an excellent way to go! If you don’t like showing so much leg, wearing a pair of knee socks gives you a more cute and chic edge to the outfit. If I’m out for long hours and walking a lot, I love wearing my ankle boots. They’re comfortable and gives me an extra half inch of height.

I hope everyone’s summer went splendidly! Sadly, vacation is about to end and school is about to begin again. The only thing I love about this time of year is that the weather will start cooling down soon! Making it so much easier to create outfits within my wardrobe. Whether you’re starting high school or college or just returning, I hope your school year goes well!

Until the next chapter!

Summer Casual

Hello Style Minds!

Sorry I have not posted in eternity! I'm not gonna lie, but I've just gotten lazy... And recently my outfits haven't really been "blog worthy". Hopefully I can finally get back to it... Hopefully.

It’s been getting pretty hot where I live, and with the warm weather it can be a hassle wearing so much clothing. For this outfit I decided to opt for something more simple and casual.

Plaid Shirt: From My Friend Dee
Romper: H&M
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe

Now as you know I am such a big fan of rompers, and this one of course is no exception. The material is a light jersey which makes it super light and comfortable to wear. It’s a great casual piece to have as you don’t even need to add too much to it! Honestly, I could have just worn it on its own. To keep the casual look and feel, I decided to wear my trusty white converse. Nothing says casual more than a pair of chucks in the summer time. Just throwing my hair up into a bun and adding on a pair of shades, I’m ready for the summer day!

Simple and casual is always a nice way to go during the summer!

Until next time!

Fourth of July

Hello Style Minds!!

Hope you guys had a fantastic week! If not, let’s hope the next one is better. Well Fourth of July weekend has passed and I hope that it was filled with nothing but fun and good times. Honestly, celebrating Fourth of July is one of my favorites. Friends, BBQ, fireworks, and sparklers. It’s just such an upbeat and fun holiday. My Fourth of July was a little…. Hectic to say the least, but I’d rather not get into details. Though overall it was still a fun day with my friends. Here’s my outfit for that day!

Hat: Forever 21
Top: Forever 21
Shorts: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Tights: Walmart
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Now, this look is a little more sport and simple than most of my other outfits. The reason this outfit is so simple is my friends and I actually hung out at the lake. So of course I didn’t want to overdress. I’m actually quite a big fan of American Flag print. I really don’t know why, but I just enjoy the look of it. I’ve never thought that I could pull off the backwards snapback look, but now I feel like it’ll be an automatic sporty look for me from now on.  I had to twek my outfit a little due to the weather and change of plans, but in all it’s still close to the original outfit. I just added my sheer tights afterwards. I absolutely love this top, the cut, length, and material is perfect for the summer, but it still has the dark color that I adore.

I hope this outfit gives you inspiration for next year or just when you want a simple and easy going look for the day!

I've had so many guest staying over at my house for the past couple of weeks. I'm also slowly building up a queue and will be able to hopefully post once a week every Monday or Tuesday

Until the next chapter!

Dark Yet Lovely

Hello Style Minds!

So this summer has been going by quite fast. My cousin was in town for about two weeks and she’s already leaving (so sad). I had a rough start of the week last week because the car I was using that day broke down, but all went well in the end. We went out almost every single day. Usually that would mean more outfit posts, but honestly they were all pretty simple. Thought maybe some of those outfits will appear on here, who knows? As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve bought and received a bunch of clothes. The next post will possibly be a clothing haul post! Trust me, it’s quite a haul as well.

Besides all the craziness of my cousin being here, this past Sunday was Father’s Day. I hope you all had a wonderful time. My dad has a very huge influence on my life. Besides being a silent support system for me, he’s actually the person I get most of my traits from (personality and physically). I really am my father’s daughter.

This look is probably one of my favorites so far. Almost every single piece in this outfit was actually gifted to me, but I was able to find out where each piece was from.

Hat: From Cousin (Urban Outfitters)
Dress: From my friend Dee (Forever 21)
Lace Kimono: Ross
Shoes: From Sister (Old Navy)
Lip Color: NYC Mahogany

I’ve always seen that dark vampy sort of style, but never thought I would be able to pull it off. I really wanted to try a dark lip because I never really wear lipstick in general and I absolutely love it! Will most definitely become my go-to look! Honestly though, my make-up is actually my everyday look just with the added lip color.  My black brimmed hat is becoming one of my staple pieces, I’ve literally worn it three times within one week. As always I’m sporting a dark color scheme, it’s just what looks and works best for me. The lace, fringe, and floral print are what make give this look the feminine feel. The vibe is fun loving yet dark and I absolutely love it.

City Day Out

Hello Style Minds!

I hope everyone’s summer is going well. Mine started off a bit slow but now it’s starting to pick up. My cousin is in town so of course it’s being filled with fun hang outs and, of course, shopping! I’ve gotten quite a pile of clothes that I’ve receive this weekend. On top of going to Plato’s Closet and Goodwill on Friday, my cousin actually gave me 2 pieces and a friend of mine also sent me a package of clothes. Clothing haul soon? Perhaps.

This past Sunday, my family and I had spent the entire day in the city of Atlanta. We went from Zoo Atlanta, lunch at the CNN center, and finished off at the World of Coke. Here is the outfit I wore for the day!

Hat: From Cousin
Sunglasses: Mall Kiosk
Top: Cotton On
Shorts: Plato’s Closet (American Eagle)
Shoes: Converse

Now the weather for that day was fairly hot. The temperature was around the lower 90’s, but the humidity (Oh Georgia humidity) made if feel like it was in the mid 90’s (though it was still bearable). I spent a long time the night before trying to figure out what to wear. Of course I wanted to wear pieces that were comfortable since I would be out for a long period of time as well as walking everywhere.

I love this vertical striped top, it’s perfect for the summer time as it lets your arms breathe but doesn’t expose the upper half as much. Of course shorts are an essential to wear for the summer, and I’m glad I picked up these distressed black pair of shorts. Whenever I know I’ll be doing a lot of walking I always have the tendency to lean towards wearing a pair of converse. They’re just so simple and comfortable to walk in. To finish off the look I wore a big black brimmed hat. I always been in love with the look brimmed hats gave. This outfit shows off the urban side of my style.

What big summer plans do you guys have coming up? Going out of town? Chilling with some friends? Work? Or maybe just spending some downtime at home.

Until the next chapter!
